About Us

The mission of PNARC is to promote the professional practice of nursing at the local level, while being fully cognizant and supportive of the common interests of nurses at the state and national levels. PNARC’s stated goals and objectives are to:

  • Provide an environment for improving nursing practice and enhancing the image of professional nurses.

  • Provide a forum for the discussion and dissemination of information related to issues, legislation and other factors that impact on nursing practice.

  • Provide support to and participate with other professional and community groups promoting the quality of health care for the community.

  • Provide social opportunities for professional nurse to network.

The Professional Nurses Association of Rockland County is active in many professional and academic endeavors. The Association was instrumental in identifying the need for first an ADN, then a BSN program in the county. PNARC was a founding member, and is a continuing participant in the annual Rockland County Nurse Recognition Day Program and Awards.  We also provide scholarships to local ADN graduates and BOCES graduates to assist them in continuing their path towards their BSN.  PNARC supports our local students by providing scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors who are pursuing a nursing degree.
